ABS problem
ABS problem
Hello.
Have a 1997 dodge 3500, four wheel abs.
The abs light is on but not the brake light.
Have read many threads here but almost all have both lamps lightning. I have a new sensor on the back. I have checked all sensor resistant in the conector to the computer, and they are okey, so the cabels must olso be okay. I have checked the brak switch in the pedal, and its okay. Is there some way to test the computer and the abs-box?
Have checked the dump and iso coils, and they are okay.
Is it possible to read fault codes of the abs, or is it only DRBII that can read something out of this 97?
Regards from Sweden

You might check some auto parts stores for a free scan...many offer it here in the USA.
Secondly, it'll need to be a scan tool that'll read ABS codes.
My old AutoTap reads ABS, Transmission & enhanced codes but it's for GM stuff only. AutoTap has Chrysler readers that'll do the same thing.
You might check with some of the local shops.
You might check where the ABS wire goes to each front hub. I had a wire break onna Olds Bravada that I easily replaced with a used piece.
Say Hey! to Yngwie if ya see him.

Not for sure on your year model, but the abs sensors are located in the front hub assembly. If you have a front wheel bearing going out your abs light might come on. Ain't my first rodeo.
Like I said I don't know what year models this is prevelant to.
