ABS and Park Brake light are on

Just replaced the front rotors and pads on my 2001. Had to beat the crap out of the right rotor to get it off. Used a torch to heat it up but did not damage anything (at least I can't see anything.) When I went to drive it, the pedal went to the floor a couple times - setting the pads to the rotor. Started to drive and the ABS and parking brake light came on. Shut down, started up and a couple seconds after the brake light went out they both came on and stayed on. Drove for awhile, brakes lock up. Shut down, started up lights came back.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

I'm not the best on a 01 but you should first try to reset the abs computer buy pulling the abs fuse for a 15 sec whith key on.

or

pull the negitive terminals off the batteries for 15 sec or so.

you may have tripped something.

I pulled the fuse. The brake light doesn't come on and the ABS light stays on all the time. Pulled the negitive wires - just lost all my radio stations thats it. But thanks for the help.

Did your brake fluid level drop once the wheel cylinders filled up? Does it have a level sensor on the reservoir cap that causes the lights to turn On? I have seen it in the past on cars, both brake engaged and fluid level turn the lights on.

No the brake fluid didn't go down. All the fluid returned back to the reservior after compressing the calipers.

Probably one of the ABS sensors at the wheel was damaged with the heat/hammering used to get the rotors off.

Also remember about the speed sensor in the rear end differential. Could just be by chance that it decided to give up the ghost the same time that you did a front brake job. Pull sensor out of rear-end and clean it......
