Hey, I got a pickup in the shop today, its a 99 CTD, no start condition....setting codes:
P01693 DTC detected in ECM
P1688 Internal Inj. Pump Failure
P1689 No COM between ECM and Inj. Pump

Im assuming the pump is toast based on the codes, just wanted to ask someone who might know more about the 24 valves

 

Yep it's done. Gotta a 2000 that threw the same codes,let me guess, it did the old lurch thing down the interstate kinda like turning the ignition key off and back on real quick a couple of time before she gave up. Break out about 1400.00 for the pump and another 350.00 labor.

 

thanks, i figured the pump was fried when i saw the p1688 code, but im kinda new to the diesel scene and didnt know for sure...
