98 12valve dying

98 12valve dying

My friends 98 12v seems to want to die at apprx 50mph or it will die somettimes for him already looked into fuel solenoid. Usually ticks before dying. Any ideas? Thanks

You could wire up the silenoid to see if that fixes it. That way you can narrow down what could be causing the problem.

The truck is old enough to have a worn out spring in the Injection Pump Overflow Valve. You have to replace the whole valve, Cummins part #3932096.

i would say the overflow valve, lift pump, plugged fuel filter or prefilter.
