Help, Im leaving in 1 hour to go hunting,
My friend use to own a PSD and now has a 96 Dodge. He is cussing it.
auto trans problem. he is 80 miles out and on his way here.
it will loose speed in OD, then it will shift back to 3rd for 1 second then drop to 2nd, then when he gains speed it wont shift to 3rd.
I read in past forums, someone said to let up the throttle breifly and it will shift. He is going to try it and call me back.
To fix it, do we need to adjust the TPS or ?????
He likes the Cummins anyway

 

Sounds like a typical TPS problem
Some people have luck cleaning the TPS, I find it to be a short term solution and just replace it.
About $160 at most auto parts.
