96 4x4 death wobble has returned
Dont know why but the death wobble has returned.
Recently with in 6 months replaced:
- Passenger outer tierod.
- passenger wheel bearing
- (2) Steering boxes
- Steering shaft
- Steering stablaizer shock
- Pitman arm
- Control arm Bushings
- shocks
- Brand new tires
- Checked tierods, no play
- 2" leveling kit
-New pads, calipers
- 4x4 u joints (started after replacing passenger u joint)
- axle seals
Im lost for words... the shocks are not made for the leveling kit, could this be the issue?

what about if the steering knuckle bolt's are loose or if the end where the steering arm bolts to the knuckle is egg shaped.
My ford's steering ball joint had been loose and it had wobbled around and made the hole egg shaped.
When you figure it out let us know

checked the track bar bolt first this morning, it was tight as heck... i used a 3 foot long 1/2 in. drive ratchet... the bolts to the back of the knuckle that attached the hub are tight as well, and also the ball joint holes in the knuckle are "normal" and tight...
hmmmm, could it be the leveling kit?

sway bar should have nothing to do with death wobble.
After you installed the leveling kit, did you adjust the cambolts on the lower arms? You need adjust these, as it will throw off the alignment. Plus, your front tires should be ever so slightly toed in, whne you install the spacers it will changed the angle of the axle, and can cause your toe to be off.

Does it "death wobble" when hitting brakes. Reason I ask..I had replaced lots of the mentioned front end parts chasing death wobble for 2 years and finally it started shaking real bad when just touching brakes. I replaced rotors and its been gone 3 months now. Rotors were obviously cracked and probably warped.
I think my rotors were bad all along but not enough to suspect rotors till they were really shot.

Mine links were wore bad causing a death wobble. Also it caused a much rougher ride and poor handling in the turns. Replaced them and what a difference.

brand new links when all work above was done... they seem a little too long but the death wobble started after that. i replaced most the parts above because i found a bad tie rod and decided to thoroughly check the front end, then when i changed the 4x4 ujoint it suddenly started.
