93 Diesel Electrical Problems

We have a 93 Cummins diesel, D250, automatic, 2 wheel drive. The speedometer, charging system and a/c stopped working. The transmission is also not shifting properly in od. We have replaced the ECM, crank position sensor, battery and alternator and still have the same problems. Can anyone help?

Re:93 Diesel Electrical Problems

Been there, done that. The problem is probably in your wires to the crank sensor. At the front of the engine, on the head is a clip that the wires pass through. The 3 pin connector is right there. The weight of the connector holds the wires against the clip and it chafes through the wire. I removed the quick connector on mine and added about 2 inches of wire, soldered and shrink tubed all connections. BE CAREFUL, the wires don't ilne up as they appear to. They are arrranged in a triangle and only one pin goes straight through the plug, the other two reverse for some reason known only to Dodge Engineering. eg. a b on one end and a c on the other.

Good luck and I hope this does it. Took 4 months for me to find this and I did everyting you did too. This was the problem that led me to this place and I've gotten a lot more out of here since. And I like to think I've given a little back too. Rick
