6.2 bored to 6.5

can a 6.2 be bored to a 6.5 ? or, dose a 6.5 use the same intake manifold, injection pump, ect... as a 6.2. I have alot of parts here, just trying to save some bucks on a rebuild.

Either are GM engines, and the best rebuild is to add three sacks of cement and use it to anchor your dock!

Re:6.2 bored to 6.5

Yes I have realisied what garbage these motors are after a hard life of plowing for 18 years, but they, (2 of them) have lasted that long. I'm just finding out now that they can't be rebuilt because the main bearing bolt holes have cracks :'(.
I would buy another Ctd right now but can't afford it. I am determined to rebuild these and get another 10 years out of them. Training trucks for my Boys. So, was looking for info. not comments that are a waste of my time.

Re:6.2 bored to 6.5

I have rebuilt a few 6.2's but never any 6.5 engines. I don't know if the main guts are the same or what was done to make it 6.5. ???

Try The Diesel Page for more information on the 6.x series of the GM Engine.

I appologise of the other members comments, we are an open bunch for the most part.. :

Bodey has posted in the general diesel section about his 6.5, maybe he could assist.

Good Luck
