4x4 Transfer Case vibration no indicator Light

About a month ago I noticed on a long trip that my 4x4 dash indicator light would come on for no reason. I made sure I was in 4x2 and the light would eventually go off.

Fast Forward a month or so later (not many miles) I noticed a slight vibration coming from the transfer case area. The is also a very slight vibration in the transfer case shifter ****.

I tried to put the truck in 4x4 high to see if I could get it to engage and then disengage by putting it back in 4x2. Anyways, when the lever is in the 4x4 high position the light on the dash didn't come on. I am pretty sure that it was in 4x4 high but am going to head to wet or muddy area to see what is spinning and what is not. I will do the same with 4x4 low.

Any suggestions, comments, or ideas?

Thanks
Jared

On my wifes 96 4X4 was doing something similar, but her 4X4 light didnt come on will just driving. It wouldnt engage and when it did it took some time for it to disengage. The front end is engaged and disengaged with vacuum lines that run from the top of transfer case. The vac lines had a leak at the top of the transfer case, which fixed her prob. When I was messing around with her truck the 4X4 light is turned on by the thingy(dont know its real name think it is called C.A.D) that engeges the front axle, not by the trans case. This prob had me puzzled for some time, the book I have for her truck doesnt really help that much, so I had to figure it out on my own, and I did not know about this site. It been alot of help so far.
