2nd gen 12V throttle sticking

I removed all the cables and linkage. It's not sticking on the linkage pivot on the front of the engine but is sticking back were it rotates near the middle of the block (or end of the pump). It sticks at about half throttle. It moves fine after the half throttle position and before the half throttle position. Is this the pump itself?

Any ideas?

Thanks

I pulled all the throttle cables/linkage etc. from the pumping system. It's the lever that appears to be going into the rear of the pump. It will move freely to the half way position and then drag really bad, then freely after the half way position. It will not return to the idle position when released. It sticks in the half throttle position.

Any help is appreciated!

When I've encountered this before the pump needed to be rebuilt.

I sprayed penetrating oil all over the external area where the shaft appears to come out of the pump. Tyried working it back and forth. No luck so far.

Any other ideas?

Still haven't fixed this yet. Now I'm being told by others that it might be the govenor sticking..........Any thoughts?

I did a govenor 4K install about 2 years ago. Never had any problem with it.

Have you had the linkage replaced before? I know there was a recall out there a while ago because of the throttle linkage. I don't know what exactly what the recall was for though.

Infidel is probably right, if the lever is hanging when disconnected from the rest of the linkage - better plan on a new/rebuilt pump. Try some Kroil on the moving parts first, sometimes it'll loosen things up enough to keep going for a while.
