Re:205,000 miles; bad shake on highway. Please reply
I HAD A BAD VIBRATION RUNNING BETWEEN 55MPH TO 65MPH ONE TIME .I REPLACED ALMOST EVERYTHING INCLUDING THE TRANSMISSION 3 TIME'S BECAUSE OF THE VIBRATION. IT WAS LITERALLY CRACKING THE TRANNY CASE ,HERE IT ENDED IT UP BEING THE REAR DRIVESHAFT AND BAD UNIVERSAL JOINTS.IT RUNS FINE NOW.BUT I DON'T RECALL IF THE PROBLEM YOU HAVE IS IN THE FRONT OR REAR OF YOUR TRUCK. GOOD LUCK.....JOHN

Thank you for the advice. My next set of tires, I will change the rims too. I dropped the drive shaft and the joints were fine. For all the miles on my truck, most of the original parts are still intact. I'm installing Lukes Link for my track bar problem. I think most of the shake is from the trac bar.

If you havent changed the bushings in the leaf springs I would guess thats were alot of the play is,, Get the poly bushings they are way better than the stock rubber stuff,,

As deep as you have gone on fixing this condition you need to get the front or all tires trued. Go to a big truck tire shop and they will cut the tires on the truck so that they are round. You will get better miles on them and eliminate all questions of rims, balance etc. It will probably fix the truck.
