I had a stick go bad at about 97.5k miles, dealer replaced that one stick (not all 6) and I've put on about 65k miles since then. I don't have hard start issues as yet.

I'm one of the guys that firmly believes one brand of diesel fuel is different than another, wether it is the particular specs or the care the fuel receives from production through distribution so it doesn't get contaminated. I'm not a "Low Bid" purchaser.

As for Performance Shop vs Dealer, this is something you should check out locally if you can't pull them yourself. Not all Dealers are bad and not all Performance Shops are better than the dealers. If you aren't sure if you can do the work yourself, you might look at a manual in the library, from a friend, or purchase a legal copy from someone like Geno's. You can also do a search and find a write up on how to replace the sticks.

I'll probably pull all 6 this year and send them in to F1 for testing, repair and re-tipping (Mach 1.6 90HP). I have a lot of traveling planned and this is just some preventive maintenance and tip upgrading.

And yeah, if you are running on the original LP, seriously look at upgrading to a Walbro or other good external pump and get a fuel gauge if you don't already have one.
Back to morning brew. . .
