12V sudden shutoff

Guys im stumped this time

I was driving home from work today, since i only worked half a day and my 12V just out of nowhere died on me. I was baffled enough as it was. I cannot start the truck without a little bit of pedal, and as soon as i keep my foot in it at least above 750 RPMS it does not die, if i let off the pedal the rpms go down and the truck dies, Does anyone have any ideas what this can be?

fuel filter is clean, im not certain how the rubber return lines are, but the truck was 100 percent fine this morning. the best symptom that i can describe is that it just gradually drops rpms all the way till the tach hits 0 then it just dies, unless i keep my foot in it...

Thanks guys!

Rick

Sound like maybe the shutoff solenoid is starting to go, and not pulling up all the way?? Either that or a linkage issue!

Sounds funny that it will still run with a little pedal?!?!

I think that i found the issue.......

throttle cable was frayed, its holding on by just one thread, literally..... I went back to dealership to see if i got the recall notice taken care of, it hadnt been done to my truck so they will fix it up, parts are on order for it.. Ill be minus my ram for another week or so...

thanks chris
