06 Won't Start
I think he's saying Dodge changed the threshold amp/trip in the software... kind of like trying to use a heavy inductive load off of a GFCI.
Sometimes the electrical engineers don't account for some of the potential field usage/conditions, i.e. - heavy starting current while the grid heaters are cycling.

Thanks for the "heads-up" on this "gremlin" problem you are having with your truck. I had not heard about that yellow starter wire "fix" either. I have a new 06' now and would not look forward to what has happened to you.
Thanks again and keep us updated.

update, local dealer checked truck today and said yellow wire is ok. they said it needed reflashed tsb 08-021-06. I said that is the same reflash as done by dealer in nevada 1 week ago when this all started. they said if this had been done prior thier scantool would not let them reflash again for same tsb. they said the reflash this time was accepted. this reflash is supposedly. they said this new reflash was to allow the electrical system to be less susceptible to trailer wiring short circuits. it changes tipm trigger point from 15amps to 17.5 amps. it also changes starter solenoid current from 75 amps to 100 amps.supposedly on diesel equipped trucks current can at times exceed 75 amps. They said they checked the starter wiring and the yellow wire checked out ok. so why did it start after i moved it around yesterday when it would not start. WE DON'T KNOW!
