03 Ram bogs down blows white smoke

Hey guys... currently driving an early 03 3500 with 220k on her with a 47re. Today I was pulling a 1 ton Ford and the truck bogged down.. almost stalled and blew white smoke, it also smelled like fuel. The truck started running fine after about 3 seconds. I noticed it would only do it under a load or when I would get on it and make it downshift out of overdrive. Driving easy it runs great, up until about 3/4 throttle... ANY IDEAS??? NO CODES or Check engine light. The truck will now do it if you get on it with no trailer... I am confused any help would be awesome!

Thanks Guys!

one more thing.

Truck did have a faulty looking exhause system so I cut it off... it is all straight piped now... it still does the bogging down thing and the white smoke.. till it nearly stalls then it runs perfect again!

Sounds like maybe a week rail relief valve. Losing fuel pressure at high requirement times.

Check your air filter. Even if the filter minder doesn't indicate a blockage, physically open the air cleaner box, and check the filter. Had the exact same thing happen on an '03.
