Yup. Which is exactly why I don't have one of those either. If I could get into one for what they're really worth, say around 25 grand or so, I'd have one. 40 grand? NO WAY.

Looks are subjective… I happen to think it's pretty cool. More importantly, I definitely think we need to embrace this truck for what it is: a compact workhorse that will get the job done. Sounds familiar? It shouldn’t because there is currently nothing in the market like this. The Ford Ranger? No, production will end in 2011. The Colorado and Canyon? There’s been widespread rumors that GM will axe them in the next 1-2 years.

Does anyone know if they make their own engines or if they're buying them from someone else?

I like ugly rugged looking trucks. To me they look good but most don't agree with my taste. Some of my best trucks and girls were ugly.

That's why I buy big trucks. My International cost less than 1/2 of what I could have bought a one ton 4X4 of the same year for, it's costs less to insure, same to register, can haul 5 times more weight LEGALLY and gets around 14 mpg. Aside from the size, what's the down side?

I dont care about ugly myself. I have pretty cars to drive if I want that. This thing seems ok to me.

I dont know about quality, but the Indians are getting better at everything they do.

The short answer to why there are no small diesels is light-duty automotive diesel emissions regulations! It's very hard & expensive to make these smaller units meet emissions standards that are the same for cars.

Wish they would offer it with a manual transmission - and who cares about the looks...it's a lot better a 2011 Ford "Super Duty"

Jeep Liberty front clip meets late 70' Toyota pickup bed...Six speed auto...nice. 21 Gallon fuel tank. Truck should go easily 700 miles between fillups..We'll never see it here though.
