WOuld you ever drive a Chevy Diesel?
I would, I think they are a nice truck. As a matter of fact when I bought my truck I tested all three and it came down to price for me. Although I am glad I ended up with the Dodge...because the Chevy was so much shorter and much smaller tires, and because of that I think the Dodge just looks so much meaner.
I wouldnt ever buy anything new whether it be a dodge ,chev or ford.Personally I like to be able to fix what Im driving myself. So that leaves 6.5 and 6.2.I know 2 guys that have blown engines in their 6.5 ,replaced them with crate motors, then sold the trucks later, and behold they buy dmaxes. One of the guys cant get over 11 mpg if he tried. So unless the truck was real cheap I wouldnt buy it.A 6.2 maybe
I traded my Dmax in on my megacab. I REALLY liked it, but I LOVE the Megacab. I have to say this is my 1st Dodge and I do like it. The Duramax was a little quicker out of the hole with about the same mods as I have now and the interior was a tad more comfortable, but not near as big.
yep - Not brand loyal at all. The GMC's and Chevy's with the D-max are nice trucks, and I like the extended cab/short box configuration, which Dodge has pretty much done away with. The I-6 Cummins is prefered in my mind, but the Bosch Common Rail injected 6.6 V8 is nto a bad engine either. And I could care less if it was jointly designed & built by Isuzu.
Mainly because the whole truck is not built to the same heavy-duty standards as Ford or Dodge. Every review I've ever read comments on how much lighter the frame is than the competition. Here, where our trucks run in mud most of their lives the independent GM front end usually has to be replaced about once a year so none of the sites use them. I suppose for a mostly highway rig that part wouldn't matter, though. But there isn't all that much pavement hereabouts. As far as the current Duramax, it seems to be a good engine as far as it goes - quiet and smooth and strong. But I keep my vehicles forever and the Cummins is built to last longer and work harder. Ultimately, it's seen in the fact that almost none of the companies that use diesel pickups hard use the GM HD trucks - without a doubt Ford is #1, and Dodge has the rest of the market (at least in this corner of the country).
I traded in a 2005 D/A for my megacab.
It had a lot of fueling problems, donut tires, bad suspension, rattley doors, cheap stereo, small extracab, and very little console space.
I have no regrets coming to the Cummins. The space of the Megacab and durability of the Cummins I-6 are worth every penny.

WOuld I drive a Chebby? I already do. Doesn't mean I don't like Dodges, but got a good deal on mine after a dealer tried effing me on a new Dodge. As long as I don't have problems w/ it, it's fine. The Chev is FAST, gets good mileage and does everything I need it to.
I still really like the CUmmins though and would get one in a heartbeat if a good deal presented itself.
