I was over in Youngstown last feb. the temp was -2 and I was'nt able to get close enough to the motel to get my 01.5 plugged in. You wanna talk about an un-happy camper! My truck made sure to make me aware that upset it...... Started just fine, just sounded like crap when it was idling. I could also sit at a red light and watch my engine temp just drop. I had the 5 speed, so the only high idle was me.

 

What a BEAUTIFUL sight too. Our trees here in Texas go green-brown-on the ground, I have an uncle that lives in the pochanos(sp?) and he gets some really nice pictures of the leaves changing.

 

Any of you guys ever open deer season in shorts and a tee shirt?
Thats pretty much a standard here in Texas.

 

So far the lowest I've seen before I go to work on the overhead is 40. The engine doesn't start or idle any differently than in warm weather yet. We'll see as it gets colder!

 

 

It was 36 degrees at my house this morning.

 

On Sunday it was down to 31 degrees. I am counting the days until I can move out to Texas!

 

Byron, Ga. Wasn't really bad outside, but when I saw the frost this morning I closed the freezer door and told the wife she needs to defrost the fridge!!

Tuesday Morning i was down abuot 40 here in tennessee. We had a fire call at about 2 in the morning. I forget how cold it in, jump in the truck, turn the key, and wait abut 10 seconds before getting started. In the summer time i could have doen been to the road. it was ok thouhg because after i got her gogin i coudl still do 90 to 95 down the highway. Time to plug her

 

Racermatt, are you saying that you are annoyed you had to wait 10 seconds before starting the truck and taking it to 95mph? Did you let it warm up at all or do you just start it and floor it?

 

oh. i did start out slow for a few seconds. then when i got out on the high way i slowly increased my speed. i might move some of my lights back over to the gasser truck i have for winter fires though

 

for the 250 to keep on chuggin, it must be a tuff engine. Have you been treating it this way for long? I imagine that there would be enough miles on the engine, and it would probably be well broke in. I'm not that it would have done any damage doing what you did.

I know Kentuky has some slick roads in the snow until they put that spray stuff down...... I wonder id TN roads are the same?
