From what I understand you need to buy the cord that attaches to the block heater with the plug on the other end for your extension cord. The "heater" itself should already be installed in the block. You just don't get the cord.

Sidewinder described it exactly. When I bought my truck, the block heater option was $10. That was basically for them to install the cord..

Block heaters? Grid heaters cycling? Here on Guam the lowest temperature I have seen is 74°. The high today was in the low 90's. Grid heaters, block heaters are not needed out here.

Go ahead jrs, rub it in! I should have been rubbing in all the pleasant 75 degree weather we had all summer while you were sweating away!

Well that is one thing you get tired of real quick here. The heat. I wish it would get cold here.

My overhead said 40 this morn when I fired it up. I dont plug in typically till it's less than 20. The truck can handle it, and it's too darn cold to be out there messing with plugs!

24 degrees here at 6 AM in the boonies of central Taxachusetts. "Smoke" coming off the pond out back, grass covered with a thick crust of frost, and the sugar maples are on fire this year. What a most excellent time of the year!

Ordinarilly you would be right Commatoze, but down here this year most of the leaves were blown off courtesy hurricanes Frances and Ivan.
