Where does Dodge hide the specs on the 3500 Dually?
Where does Dodge hide the specs on the 3500 Dually?
Can anyone provide me the link to the Dodge web site that details the specs for the 3500 dually? I'm interested in the load/towing specs. I can find the specs on the standard 3500 SRW at www.dodge.com/towing but the 3500 DRW is not included on this site
If the truck you are referring to is a 3rd gen, it is my understanding that the DRW 3500 GVWR (Truck and it's cargo) is 12,200lbs. The GCVWR (Truck, cargo and trailer) is 21,000lbs with a 3.73 gear and 23,000lbs with 4.10s.
Of course, they will all pull much more...but that is what DC rates them at.
Sorry, I don't have a link for you though.

RickG,
Thanks, This is the best info I've found and I'll take it at face value until I talk to my dealer.
Here is the info under the capabilites section. From this "capability" listing I guess we can infer that for the 12,200 GVWR and 5200 payload "When Properly Equiped" = "Dually". The towing ratings (23K/16.3K/ require a 4.11 axle = "When Properly Equiped"
Interesting that they include the 2500 in this listing
Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 heavy duty trucks deliver a full-size punch of horsepower, torque, payload capacity, and towing (View Towing Guide) for your toughest jobs. Get a load of these numbers:
23,000-pound maximum gross combined weight rating (when properly equipped)
16,300-pound maximum towing capability (when properly equipped)
12,200-pound maximum gross vehicle weight rating (when properly equipped)
5,200-pound maximum payload capacity (when properly equipped)
Cummins Turbo Diesel has the longest engine stroke in a heavy-duty turbo diesel
Ram 2500/3500 has the fastest steering ratio in a heavy-duty pickup

The 3500 's are capable of hauling much more than the 23,000 GCVW and 16,000 lb. towing capacity . Plenty of examples have been shown here and on other forums . The problem is going beyond the GCVW brings up liability and warranty issues . I found it interesting a recent poster on hotshothauling.com said he once loaded his 3 car 18,000 gvw wedge " right to the max" - 2 2500's at 6500 lbs. each and a 5,000 lb. SUV
. In another post he said he was going to get a 2007 chassis cab . His truck was wrecked when a moving van backed out in front of him . I wonder what his GCVW was at the time .
