where can I find
where can I find
I usually use a lub that goes in the gas tank when I haul the horses- about 9,000#. I go about 1,500 miles, so I use a lub by Dodge/Ram- it is about $16quart/42gal. I don't want to go where I usually go- it is too far away. What other name/brand/auto store could I use? Thanks.
Check the info in this thread.

Many are switching to using 2 stroke oil as a lubricity additive.

As I will be traveling, I want something 'easy'. Why are people usung the motor oil- because it is free/low cost? Other than the chart you led me to, are there any studies that motor oil is better? Wouldn't new oil be better than the used- 5,000 miles would have small metal oieces, that would seem to defeat purpose, doesn't it? I have no knowledge...
forgot to ad...
Sorry- forgot to mention the chart that you guided me to. If the Standyne PF has a 603, and the Standyne Lub is 479 HFRR, then is it saying the PF is better? I guess I don't understand, if the Standyne Lub is just for lubbing?? Also, I will be at the mercy of different gas stations along the way- is it safe to use a lub additive with each tank? And, SHOULD I use an additive with each tank, or would that be too much? I need all the mpg going up some steep passes.
The Stanadyne lubricity additive is ONLY for Lubricity.
The Performance Formula has less lubricity but has anti-gell & cetane improvers also.
The lower the HFRR number the better.
The nice thing about the two-stroke oil is it's available pretty much everywhere.
I add 1 oz of two stroke for each gallon added at a fillup.
