I've seen several CTD's around here with twin stacks that sit at least 3ft above the top of the cab! I think they look ridiculous! I like stacks that sit just above the top, but 3-4ft??! I understand if there is a point, but even pulling a gooseneck they would be at least a foot above the trailer.
Sorry, just had to gripe.

Edit: Oh and I mean no offense to anyone on here who might have tall stacks..I just don't understand them.

If I get the stacks that are 20 something feet in the air, I will add one of those "wings" that go on top of the cab to make it have more of a big rig look. Other than that, I don't like them.

Yeah, I like those stacks...the stacks i've been seeing are at least a a foot and a half taller than those.

 

yeah i think that farmaers use it if they put LOTS of hay in the bed and tow a trailer too... the hay bales would stick up to just underneath the tips

 

I like the way they look from the front but not crazy about how they look from the back.....

 

ive done both...i started with them a foot above the cab...and i also had a Y pipe and elbows....now i have stacks level wiht the cab and a 3x6 inch square tubing replacing the elbows and Y pipe....i will never go back....the taller stacks look great from the front...because u get the big rig look....but from the back is where they end up looking like toothpicks...and if one stack is off by a hair it is really pronounced...there is nothing worse than stacks that arent straight....BUT to each their own ...i commend anyone that is passionate about somehting and puts their time into it...if it looks great to u and makes u happy then im all for it...cause after all not everyone likes my stacks either

Hey those do look pretty good. But it's because it's a dually and not raised; hence, more big rig look. On a 3/4-ton, it'll probably look goofy. Were the ones you saw on a srw truck?

 

Im not crazy about tall stacks either. Some of the stacks i see on trucks around here are just hideous. Its like people buy anything and just throw em on there so they can say "yeah i got stacks" . IMO stacks look the best if they are even or just a tad taller than the cab, 6inches taller at the most. But then again there could be some people out there that think short stacks are hideous too. To each his own i reckon. It just boils down to what YOU think looks good on YOUR truck.

 

The longer stacks also have a much better sound in my humble opinion. Mine have more of a blapp sound than just stright engine exhaust noise. We put the cab level stacks on my sons truck turned out to each side and they about drove me crazy on the way to Indiana and back. In fact, the guy that bought the truck eventually had to put mufflers on it cause it was way too loud, I figure why bother if there is no sound. Personally, I think the stacks on the duallys look good but had I bought a 2500, I would not have done it.

I love cab height Bull-Haulers with the curve is higher than the cab and turns out a little.
