what truck will get the best mpg?
I drive 110 mi a day, work commute, and tank after tank figured with a pencil my fuel milage runs 20.5 to 21 mpg. Truck has 36000+ on odom and I drive the legal POSTED speeds. Best MPG on a trip, 680 mi, was 23.7 mpg with pencil.
My towing MPG runs 11.5 running 70 mph on interstates to 13.5 mpg on two lane 55-60 speeds. My 5er is a 28 ft with 2 slides and 11500 lb GVWR. This Cummins engine kicks butt and thats from an old man thats drove CHEV trucks for 45+ years..........JIM

I normally make a note of what fuel mileage the overhead says, and what I manually cipher. Just in case, to reset, push both buttons and hold them for about 5 seconds. The overhead display will blink on-off-on-off-on.
All of us guys with overhead displays should reset 'em and try again, and re-post.

Turn around trip, no cruise chasing Rip & diesel Freak down the interstate varrying speeds from 65mph to 85mph 16.8 mpg. Knocked almost an hour off the time going home & that was with a brief stop to drop off a inter cooler & grab a hamburger on the run.

my truck gets about 17mpg no matter how I drive... around town = 17mpg... I drive pretty conservatively around town... I also get about 17mpg on the highway... I DON'T drive very conservatively on the highway! LOL! my truck doesn't have cruise control, so I get pretty bored and find myself going 80-85mph often... I'm sure if I slowed it down to 65mph, mileage would jump a good deal, but I'm not THAT interested in a number... I'm interested in enjoying my truck.
and on that note, Palmetto Kid... get the injectors and exhaust... life is short, it's all about smiles per mile!
