at what point do you realize its not worth your price?

Why do people think that because something is worth a certain price to them that somebody is going to buy it at that price??

When I try to sell something I price it in a range that I would be willing to pay if i was in need of it myself. its tough to find the NV5600's now that they arent made, but I can buy a completely new rebuilt unit for $2000 and there are guys wanting $3-4k for used (up to 100k miles) units.

Maybe I am looking at it wrong, but some folks are crazy, I will have my new nv5600 and 271 t-case for $2800 in a few weeks, but guys won't sell the same items used for the same price!

well a good friend of mine sells cars, and he always says to me, " there's a butt for every seat, sometime you have to wait for them to meet" it's true, and it even rymes!

People are stupid, they will just wait for that right person to buy it. Just like a 14 year old truck with 150000 plus miles on it for 12 grand........

thats why I try to research everything I buy before I buy it. I think people that put those high prices are hoping for some guy who just ruined his trans and is desperate to get anything in, and isn't really thinking it through to get the best for his money.

The biggest word here is THINK. Some people THINK they can get the high price and some people don't THINK and pay it.

Well if its in good shape and not trashed I would rather spend that than $50k on a new one that I had to finance and make some one elses pockets richer.
Call me stupid but I don't see any value in borrowing money or leasing/renting a new one that the majority seems to see?? However I use my truck mainly for transportation. Who knows maybe I will see the light one day.

Ok, I gotta ask, Who is stupid here? The guy selling the tranny for $3000-$4000 when there are remanufactured units out there for $2000, or the guy buying the tranny for $3000-$4000 when there are remanufactured units out there for $2000.

As far as I can see it is the guy buying the tranny that is the dumb one here because he didn't do his homework and scout out ALL his options before buying.

The guy selling is trying to get the best buck for his junk and if some sucker is willing to pay more than what it is worth how can that be his fault?

Don't you have to have a core if your buying a rebuilt? how much would it cost if you had no core or it was bad?

$750 to $1000 more without a core depending on the rebuilder

stay away from Phoenix Rebuilt Transmission tho, they have a bad rep.

Man-Trans in florida seems to be the most legit, well trusted company for rebuilt units, but they wanted $4145 with no core...i laughed then hung up the phone

I think that is a hell of a deal. Standard Trans in Texas is selling remans 5600s for 2950 plus 700 core. I have always thought they were fair and top dogs when it came to transmissions.

When ya going to get it?

man, I'm a turn n' burn kinda guy myself... one in the hand is worth more than two in the bush... I've had an offer for $1800 for my 5600, and that sounds just fine by me!

when i pull my current 5600 I will be having my tranny guy go thru it top to bottom and anything that looks worn gets replaced as well as the broken 6th gear synchro, and then i think i may put it in the garage and keep it as a spare unless i find someone who really needs it and they make me a reasonable offer, im not gonna give it way, but i wont be asking $3500 either
