Used car warranty?

Anyone ever purchased a used auto warranty? Is it worth it? Any company in particular better than another? Thanks.

I have Wynn's 6/72 extended warranty. If the Trans Am keeps going to the shop it will be worth it. In the last four months I have had water pump, head light motor, key cylinder all replaced under warranty and waiting for tthe dealer to tell me the cause for the check engine light right now. The last four months have almost made it worth it. It has 60k on it now

well, let me say this.
few yrs ago i bought a dakota and they asked if i wanted the extened warranty? how much? $2500 bones he say's. i say no way man, that's way too much money.
the tranny went out that cost me $1700 bones to get rebuilt.
sold that trk and got ram 1500. he asked would you like the extened waranty? i say..........hell ya how much is it? $2000. ok!
about a year after the purchase needed the axle seals replaced done. intake leaks, done. tranny, done. more than paid for it by the time i sold the truck.

ok, i told you that story to get to this one. sold the 1500 and moved up to the 01.5 ctd in my sig.
bought the warranty $2900 bones! deal. in the last 2 years the IP has been replaced, 2 axle seals, one pinion seal, the 4x4 actuator on the front diff, 2 front brake lines, a/c compressor, oh, i almost forgot....... i am on my 3rd engine! i spent the 2900 on the warranty and 50 bucks for each occurance. so all in all i may have a grand total of 3100 bones.
WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!!
sorry for the long read, just felt the story needed to be told to make my point. sorry.

I purchased the used car warranty on my little dodge (01' quad gasoline), 3 - 4 months later the tranny went out, completely! Factory replacement including torque converter at about $3200, only $100 out of pocket and the warranty only cost me $1300. I would say I got the better end of the deal on that one
