Turning up a john deere
ok we have a JD 4255, it has a bosch pump on it, i know that u should be able to turn her up a lil bit. So anyone that knows anything please chime in, any advice will help..........mitch@jc'sCTD
Do you know why John Deere's are green?
They are green so they can hide in the grass when there is real work to be done!
Just messing with you, I was red but I also used to work on the green.
How much do you want?
The pump is mechanical right? if that is the case the dealer or any diesel shop should be able to turn it up for you. be careful though you can go over the drivetrain power capacity and engine parameters easily if you turn it up alot. I would not try to do it myself if it were mine.

I can almost guarantee that that tractor has no computer. We did a bunch of "pump tuning" when i was in college on tractors of that era. Not a big deal, we made some older deeres gain over 100 HP with simple mods.

I know i know , NOTHING runs like a deer (see picture below) But there is also no smell quite like a John
They tried to raise me right (i'm the little kid):
But i saw the light at a young age , and i was not afraid to go towards it:

I spent 8 hours cleaning that machine for 30 minutes of use
What motor is in that tractor? It evades me at the moment.
Basically, 99% of JD inline pumps adjust like the 12V pump, only the AFC housing is down on the side, where the Dodge has it up top. Small motor like that you won't have much trouble, but on a 6619 they are set to about the limit stock--Due to starting difficulties. 466's have plenty of room to play with, espescially with Bosch pumps.
Now that I think about it, if you'd do the timing on a 619, you could probably get a lot of fun out of it!!!
Think about it, nearly double the displacement of our 360's!!!

We offer many different agriculture power modules, but nothing for the 4200 series that you have. Not to say that couldnt change and something becomes avaliable soon. Let me know and I will look around to see if there is something we can get you. Thanks!

Nothing smells like a john or runs like a deere. I grew up with Case and IH. Then they merged, now its just Case. My neighbors used to have these huge articulated tractors by the name Steiger. These things were crazy looking! Anyone else seen one? My favorite part about them....CUMMINS POWERED! Check it out on the front.
