Man, I can't stand the sound of the V8 diesels. They sound so much better with the stock exhaust. At least that way you know its a diesel with turbo whine and not some old rattletrap V8 with a header leak...

I had the 6.0 as i already said and that thing had many problems! Truck was in the shop quite a lot! The head studs are the main thing that goes wrong with that truck. I know many people that have had to replace theres and i had to replace mine and right before i got rid of mine i think they were about to go again. I needed new injectors all because they were not firing right so yeah the engine sucked! But the truck sounds SWEET when those things are straight piped! I just could never get enough of that sound, turned heads like nothing!

The first time I EVER heard a diesel truck, it was the Dodge Cummins. I remember walking into Menards and hearing this semi take off at the stop light near by. I turn just in time to see a 2nd Gen 3500 shift into the next gear and take off, blowing smoke I thought, I gotta have one of them! It had the turbo whistle and some BIG exhaust, 5" or 6".

5 minutes? Dude, get a GF.

I used to have a pretty good whstle out of my hx 35 when it was over 55psi. Now that I've got my s300 it hardly ever whistles.

I dunno, my S300 through the ScottyII makes a pretty good head ache. Only thing is I can't spool like that in traffic without going way too fast. I can't hold it long enough without changing gears, by then I would be doin 70 mph. I find the Ford sound annoying, sounds like its getting wild and its barely moving.

I got tired of the whine towing and threw in the TAGIII, made it liveable.

I'm running a AFE intake with the torque tube and a missing silincer ring. Let me tell you what, I can hear mine whistle even when the radio is cranked up if I step on it. I've thought about putting my silincer ring back in but I like the whistle. I have my stock exhaust on, muffler and cat. I literally have no exhaust sound at all, just this high pitched whistle that grabs everyones attention.

I think when I install my exhaust it will balance things out some.

I thought that PS sounded good!

Joe Lee - I too had a 2003 F250 bought new. Granted I sold it w/ 45k ish miles on it as I needed more room it was a good truck though no real complaints. I didnt have any issues that weren't little things any normal vehicle would have. I also kept it stock except for level lift and 315's and shocks.

I sold it for a 2003 Excursion as I needed more room...When looking for an Excursion I didn't even consider a 6.0L as so many guys had issues w/ them it seemed. Not very confidence inspiring...I had a good 2003 6.0L and wouldnt consider another if that tells you anything....I bought a 7.3L Ex and it needed a lot done to it to be at the same level as the stock 6.0L. The Torqshift trannie on the 250 was really nice IMO.

I sold the Ex as I needed another truck and here I am now. I had good luck w/ the fords and still have a 1993 (non turbo) 7.3L w/ 271K starts and does what you ask of it as long as you dont ask it tow anything or actually do any work. Great dog machine and dump runner though

Where am I going with all this???? oh yeah that loud of a turbo in cab would drive me nuts but maybe if I was 19 again.
