I like the way they were sort of hiding behind the ladder before it went. I too wish they hadnt cut it off so soon.
Their is another one of the same truck on there with it filmed from the front the blue flash under the hood is real impressive
and EXPENSIVE !!!
You can see the dyno guys running for it too .

Several years ago, myself and about five other trucks were all running along together, and had been for probably two-hundred miles, somewhere between Bowling Green and Munfordville, going North on I-65, middle of the night.
The lead truck was a Builder's Transport with a flatbed load of bagged cement.
Pulling a long grade, all of a sudden I see the brake-lights of the trailer ahead of me brighten.
And then, it was like someone just dropped a thick black blanket over my windshield; I could not see anything, nothing at all.
It seemed to last for a minute, before I regained visibility.
I turned on the wipers and wiped soot from the windshield just like it was snow.
I wasn't the only one, as every truck in that line experienced the same thing.
Then the guy in the Builder's Transport truck noticed he was losing power bad.
Turns out that the insides of his turbo had just disentegrated.
Had their been any cars in the mix, with their forget about everybody but themselves driving attitude, it would have been disastrous.

That was In Buda, Tx... this yr. I was there! Fool did not know when to stop. IMO, he could have saved it if he listened close enough to all the signs of trouble! Just did not sound right for a long time before it blew. Was Exciting!!
Saw an even better one (also this yr). Brand new PS66 Turbo blew out the compressor housing when the third stage of NOS kicked in. Hot metal shards shot into the walls and ceiling ..... AND through the filewall and rested between the drivers feet!!. Fire from burning oil took several minutes to put out!
Not a good yr for turbos!

They usually shift through, sometimes skipping a gear to bring the wheels up to speed and get the trans either in direct drive or over drive. Thats when they give it all they got.
Is this because of the way the dyno softwear is set up... or is it because the engine produces more power in those gears??... I don't know.

Nice blow up... I couldn't run my truck that long without boost getting up.
I thought that the dyno runs are usually made with the second highest gear because it's usually the straight gear.
1:1 ratio. Driveshaft turns at the same ratio than the crankshaft so it's given more reliable numbers with no need to use any factor with the gearbox....

I think the guy was more concerned with showing off because he sure did have lots of indications everything was
not exactly right and stayed in it anyway. The part i found most interesting was as they always do it did seem to straighten out and run really good for a few seconds before it blew .
Any body know what numbers he ran before it let go ?? It was a good looking truck.
