trucks in central TX hill country

so I just got back from the Austin area apartment shopping and doing interviews...what a nice area!...i never thought there would be hills like this down there!...I had problems with the heat though im not used to that...45 min outdoors max before heading back in for a bit...one thing I noticed though was that there are dodge diesels everywhere!!..and if they're not diesel they're Hemi's...but the one thing that got me is that 70% of all the trucks there have this black full size steel bumper up in the front and back...but everyone is the same!...its like there is an assembly line for these bumpers there and only one to choose from....just thought I'd share

Yeah, deer and cattle being on the road have always been a problem in that area. the front and rear replacement bumpers are very common in Texas.

There are several manufacturers. Ranchhand is what I own and swear by.

Watch out for the deer there like flies. I don't live down there but drive through there regular. I'm on the south plains but once you drop of the cap its the same with the deer.

Dodges are big in central texas ive noticed. here in s-ville, its about 4 CTD to every PowerJoke and prolly 6CTDs per D-Max.....and 90% have no exhaust
South Texas (home) seems to be more of a Powerstroke area.
Yeah, deer and cattle are a part of life in Texas. My truck, my moms D-max, all of our friends with trucks, and just about everyone with a diesel has a replacement bumper.
Ranchand is a good name but a bit pricey in my opinion. Most people I know either make the bumpers themselves or go to local metal fab shops that custom make HEAVY DUTY bumpers. Thats what we've always gone with. Here is a pic of my 93 with its bumpers...theyre bolted and welded on. Itll take an elephant to bend them back

i see....yep seems like central Texas has a thing for our dodges....I saw maybe 2 dmaxes during the whole trip....things seem to vary region to region...over in Tennessee and Kentucky I saw tons of dodges...over in central and south Florida everyone has a Ford...interesting how regional things are when it comes to trucks. ere in Ontario things are overrun with Ford fleet vehicles...Ford really sunk its contracts deep into every office up here. In buffalo there are NO diesels...very rare to see one of any brand
