Trickle charging the 2 batteries while parked

I picked up a couple of portable trickle battery chargers to keep the batteries charged, as I drive beaters during the winter. The battery shop said to just hook them up to each battery. Is this right? thanks.

Actually, since the batteries are wired in parallel, you only need one trickle charger - it will keep both batteries charged as long as they are interconnected as normal and neither battery has a weak or dead cell.

Use the second trickle charger on your camper battery. Two trickle chargers in parallel will cause each to read the other's voltage, not the batt voltage, so charging will be faulty.

That is what the instructions on my Battery Minder say also. The trickle chargers can handle 4 batteries of the same type.
