Transfer Case Gurus

I am looking for any recommended t/c places around Garland, Tx. Mine makes a heck of a racket when put in 4 high or low. Kinda like a clunking.

Thanks.

For what type of vehicle and if possible, what transfer case?

Most transmission shops also deal with transfer cases. If you know of a good tranny shop, they will more than likely have a good t-case guy there.

The manual makes mention of the tc making noise when attempting to engage into 4W Low. You might read it if you haven't already and just make sure you're following the way they mention to shirft into 4 Low.

This not the slight grinding noise when going into 4L. This is after it is in either 4H or 4L and it rather loud and thumping. You can feel it through the floor boards as well. I am not real confident with some of the tranny shops that I have used in the past. Haven't been real satisfied with their service and pricing.

Have you swapped out the fluid to see how it looks? It could need it anyway and just might help, or it may even be low on fluid. Just a thought.
