Dan I really dont now about the whole 2nd gen/ 3rd gen idea only because of the different cab configurations and the newer hydroformed frame. I mean you could probably make it work, but there would be alot of fab work to be done. Plus whats so bad about the 2nd gen look anyways, lol. Ive seen cabs for sale on ebay in the past. Im sure a few phone calls to salvage yards in the area may turn up some leads... Whatever you do good luck. Anything else except the cab/front fenders/bumper messed up? Looks like a tire blowout in the back. any frame or other body damage?

I know exactly how you feel. I'm 20 and I've put almost every dime I've made into my truck. I love it to much to get rid of it. I can only imagine what your going through. I hope they find the sorry sob's that did this. I'll keep an eye out for spare cabs and fenders and what not. I'd definately stick with a 2nd gen body and front clip just to make life easier.

I don't know how capable you are but that truck is very fixable. With all the money you have into the truck you have to fix it. If the body shop will work with you,you and your dad can can pull it all apart mark everything and put it back together. Most all of it is bolt on stuff, get it apart let the body shop straighten it out.get the parts have, them paint all the edges, you guys put it together and let them paint the rest of it.Its alot of work but it can be done. And you and dad can bond for awhile, and talk about it years later.Ive never built a Dodge that bad, but I have done some others,Don't be afarid of it, you can get this done!! Oh and for moneys sake and ease of the project, don't try putting 3rd gen stuff on it, replace what you have.(Look for a whole truck,2wd gasser from Katrina, for all your parts)You'll get alot of interchange info on parts here on DTR.Good Luck

the truck being a quad-cab, you'll have to find a 98'-up cab for it, & some of the 98'-99' year models were still a club cab design w/out the 4 doors, good luck, Dusty
