Tyler,
I should call my truck multi-purpose? I have tires for different occasions.
The 5.5" lift to clear the 36"x14.5" tires for offroading, and street driving.
285x75 tires for hte dyno and sled pulls,
33x12 slicks for the track.
Rollcage to protect me if I flip the truck, and for when it gets going fast enough at the track.
5-point harness seats for my safety, on or off road.
I have no idea what it's going to run at the track, dyno, or if it will hold up to sled pulling. One thing it will do is drive on road. Just as soon as I get it legally registered.
I will call my truck streetable, street driven, and daily driven. I will not drive my truck everyday. Using high HP vehicles is hard on them. Whether you have a 700HP Corvette, or a 700HP Diesel, just the fact that you are using it subtracts from it's life. I will drive my truck 2-4 times a week, but not everyday.
My other 550hp truck will be driven everyday, and taken out of town.
I've been around Snow White enough to know, it is a street driven truck. It may not be driven everyday, but it is driven often.
It's just too risky to drive that kind of truck everyday.
I would put David's truck in the "Sport Truck" category. It's not going to offroad, or do a baja,, but it will swing a corner fast than you think.
That's my take on it...

Now i get to get in on this
Arent most the 10 second dodges 4wd, compared to the much lighter 2wd snow white? What does dennis perry's truck weigh, compared to snow white if anyone knows? 4wd adds a lot of extra weight. Streetable to me, means that you can drive it to work and home if you want. Doesent mean it has to be driven everyday, but that makes it a daily driven truck if you do drive it everyday, which is a lot more respectable to me. They ought to be able to make that big, huge 7.3L V-8 run 8's as big of a motor in as light of a truck as it is, but to me, those v-8's just aint got what it takes . Ill stick to my old 94 2500 4x4 dodge that i drive to school every day, that will run 10's in the 1/8th .

imho, snow white is about as streetable as it gets. having a lifted truck, to me, its just as hard to get in as stepping over a little bar. as far as not being able to drive on wet roads, agressive mud tires are just as bad if not worse on a wet road than a mickey street slick. yes they are apples to oranges but streetable shouldnt be held to any certain characteristics. if the driver of the truck is comfortable enough to drive it on the street as a normal truck...then it is streetable.
blue....before you get in the 12s or 11s, dont ya think you should work on not getting beat by a psd that has 1500lbs of ranchhands and headache rack and a big lift first?

You sure that wasnt before he had the 100hp chip in? Those ferd's dont seem to be very fast to me with just a chip. Also, im sure having the stock tranny hurt him big time. They suck without a torque converter lockup switch.

same here, to me a ford with a 100 horse chip will push you back in the seat a little firmer than an equivalant dodge with a 100 horse box. also, a stock 4r100 tranny suffers from a slipping torque converter with ahot chip just as bad as a dodge. if i run anything over about 100 horsepower, the truck barely gets faster....the tranny just cant hold it.

I had one kid hold on to the front seat arm rest while he was in the back and I did a 4wd launch at 20psi and he broke my arm rest because it tossed him back so hard. So ya I agree with yall the Fords wake up better to chips. Dodge wake up better to INjectors and turbo instead of boxes.

I dont know, but i had a 6spd psd(about a 2000 model with 100hp chip) pull out behind me kickin on it one day, and i ran off and hid from him . I still think fords have a better stock tranny than a dodge does though(automatic).
3kracker racing: ford must not make very strong grab handles . Id say most modded trucks would come off the line pretty hard at 20lbs of boost though Id be afraid id break the input shaft or something.

Ahh i never had to worry about input.... The oh shoot handles were good to hang on to but it was the arm rests on the front seats. But yea 20psi launch was awesome. I got almost everyone out of the hole.
