Some people amaze me
Sorry for the off topic post but its the fault of my older twin Top and others like Mexstan that have swayed away. Yeah thats it.
I had problems with my 98 24 valve truck. It was one of the first. Cummins was working with Dodge dealers to resolve. I was told to take it to the 'specialist' at one particular dealer.
I dropped the truck off and went for lunch. About 10 minutes into lunch I see my truck go FLYING by and I could HEAR the stereo. [aftermarket] I left to find where the 'specialist' was going. He and his 'assistant' went to A&W...to the drive thru!!! They pegged the curb trying to skinny the dually into the drive thru, clipped the dually fender and then dumped the clutch and did a burnout when they left!
I followed them back to the dealer and noted that they exceeded the speed limit by 25 mph! I drove right up behind them on the service drive. They stopped and jumped out and went back into the shop. I went in the front way, found the dealer principle and proceeded back to get the service mgr. I pointed out the two clowns eating their burgers and they were fired on the spot. There were fries on the floor of the truck, damage to the passenger fender and grease all over the door panels and steering wheel.
The dealer assessed the damage and the clean up to be 2300.00. I told them they can provide me the parts, deduct the cost from the 2300 and write me a check for the balance. At first they tried to tell me that it cannot be done that way. So I asked if I could borrow one of their new trucks on the lot to go get something to eat.
They wrote the check and provided the parts.

You may have bought one of the Dodges built by Ford back when they owned Cummings!
No seriously, I have not allowed anyone to touch my truck except the trans shop. I've read too many stories of guys taking the cars/trucks out for an abusive joyride.
If you must do this always write down the mileage and keep a close eye on the whereabouts of your vehicle, also, insist on going on any test drives.
I took our Jetta to the local dealer for service and noticed it driving off the lot. I asked about why they would test drive it for an oil and lube and the service manager told me thay run them over to the quick lube when they are really busy!
After I calmed down I told him if I wanted the quick lube to work on it I'd have taken it there myself and to get my car back on the lot immediately as I dialed my lawyers # on my cell. After i got the car back and was consoled by the dealership's general manager I was told the oil and lube was complimentary and hoped I would consider coming back! Yeah right. Well I did end up going back, after sitting in my garage overnight it had a pool of brake fluid under the right front tire. I turned the wheel out and found a slit in the brake line at the caliper. I was so mad I needed to calm myself before taking it in there. The diagnosis was that a piece of debris had bounced off the roadway and cut the brakeline. I would be in the Bahamas today if I could have proven what I think occured! Never again.

WOW!!!!! I NEVER thought a DEALER would do any of these things with a customers car.HOLY **** thats the reason no body works on my vehicles. I thought these guys were suppose to be professionals.
pro·fes·sion·al:[pruh-fesh-uh-nl] –adjective
1. following an occupation as a means of livelihood or for gain: a professional builder. a professional mechanic. a professional criminal.
crim·i·nal:[krim-uh-nl] -adjective
1. of the nature of or involving crime.
2. guilty of crime.
3. of or pertaining to crime or its punishment: a criminal proceeding.
4. senseless; foolish: It's criminal to waste so much good food.
5. exorbitant; grossly overpriced: They charge absolutely criminal prices.
Starting to see a correlation here?
Just4Smoke, I know what you mean. You should have seen what the previous owner of my 92 did to the brakes. I'm lucky I made it the 150ish miles home alive. Glad I don't use the brakes much. To add insult to misery, the mechanic I payed to fix it screwed it up worse.
HAHA, brakes were even worse then the rest of it. I changed them as soon as I got home but probably shouldn't have driven home with them. Check out the rear rotor (they were both the same). The fronts at least had some meat on the rotors but the pads were completely gone. Also had a bad caliper in the rear from being overextended for so long. Seriously who thinks this crap is okay. Its one thing to let the truck run like crap but to not be able to stop is putting others in danger.
Had my 04 ram in for a u joint warranty when the megas came out. As the ex wife and I went to get some food I saw my truck flying down the highway. I told them which u joint it was and you could tell. It squacked awefull. When I got back the wife and I took a mega on a test drive stopped in a field did our thang and went back. Pulled up tog the service asked for my truck since they hadn't. Started the repairs. The manager came out and asked about the mud on the mega. I told him you beat on my truck I beat on yours. Were even, they didn't appreciate it any more than I did. Eye for an eye I say. By the way sorry for the bad puncuation. Stupid phones anyway
