Question So..Theoretical, hypothetical??

So...If Ford did really did offer the CTD Cummins 5.9 in their 250-350, would you buy that or would you buy the DMC offering?? I really like my 2004.5 and had no trouble with my Y2K, but I'd be tempted. Your thoughts. Bill

Well, I have a couple hundred thou left before I start to think of a new truck (something you'll never hear from a Powerstroke or Duramax owner), but I do prefer the the Ford looks to the snout on the 3rd genners. A 5.9 ISB would really push me off the fence. If I was looking of course!

I think that Ford has a nicer vehicle; if they had a Cummins in their trucks about 10 years ago, I would have been looking for them instead...

new 05 superdoody with a 04 305/555 hpcr, nv5600 crew cab short bed would be nice, but a custom interior would be needed... the interior on the fords is awful i think... gm did a much better job on their interiors...

so basically...

dodge/cummins powertrain [& drivetrain/suspension]
ford shell
gm interior...

that would be a winning truck, but the die hard ford fans won't want it cause it would ride too smoothly and be too reliable [they won't get to see their service advisor regularly]

The Ford interiors is AWFUL. I had an '01 7.3. Seems like after about 30,000 miles or so, the emergency brake lever broke (several times) and the fuel peddle fell off on a trip to KY to pick up a Foremost head gate/palp. cage. The Ford interior just seems sub standard to me. I will stick with the Dodge/Cummins combo.
