Slicks for our trucks?

Do we need them? Are they worth it? If so, who do you use?

Mark, I posted a couple links the other night for streetsmoker. Look in the chapter 31 forum if you want to see the tires and pricing, ouch.

Slicks for drag racing? Not necessary with a 4X4.

Can you even get true slicks in 17"?...which you would need to clear our brakes...

I seen some Michey T's with 17's, and some hoosiers that had 17's. I would rather have a slick on than run 4x4.

I've got a set of drag radials in 17's for my car before. I also think they make a sport truck drag radial too. But you might be short on gearing possibly depending on sizes, you definately couldn't run a 275/40/17 DR like you would on a camaro or mustang.

Yeah, I saw the 40's. Passed them on by... I know john P has some street slicks for his truck. I was looking for something I could throw on some steel rims off of a work truck package and use on the track.
