Well it's a good thing my name isn't mark brown, because I'd hate to be listed as brown mark in the phone book.

We don't have any mark browns here, do we?

That happened to me while I was refueling a tanker. The dry brake had a piece of trash that wouldn't let it seal after I removed the refueling nozzle from the valve. Got drenched with diesel. Needless to say I had throw everything away except for the neoprene gloves and my work boots.

When I got dirty, greasy, grimey fuel soaked cloths, I would throw in a hand full of "GOJO" hand cleaner with the wash. Did the job.

Has everyone forgotten that diesel is hydroscopic? Soak them in a big bucket of water, add in Dawn dishwashing detergent. Let them soak, change the water a couple of times then wash them.

Greased Lightning, Purple Power, Oil Eater, Castrol Super Clean etc... all of these products work and come with a guide on the back for the proper ratios....

I get diesel all over my Carhartts too. I just wash 'em at the townie laundro along with a bottle of Goop (orange cleaner). Can't smell the fuel anymore, but it smells like orange peels. Guess ya can't have everything.

One thing I reccomend is saok it in a bucket of HOT water with a very generous amount of Dawn dish soap. Give it a good stir every half hour or so. Do that until the water is cool. Then wash like normal in the washin machine.

That method works great on my Mechanix gloves and my clothes I use specifically if I am wrenching on the vehicles. The dish soap gets most if not all of the oil out. I have done this several times and have had no issues with the gloves or clothes, niether have faded or fallen apert or anything.

Why Wash Them??

If you are anything like me it will invariably happen again! Let them dry naturally and use them for working on the truck!! Just remember not to smoke while wearing them!!!

well if the washer over flows just mop the floor while your at it and you have just kilt two birds with one rock.

If you have the means and the chance buy a second wash and dryer for cheap an put out side you and other will thank you when your dryer makes every thing that enters them comes out smelling like diesel. I ruined a washer when we built a bunch of bridges using board that were treated in creosote.
