$2.15 this am. 4 hours later $2.29 WTH 14 cents in four hours!!! At that rate it will be $3.00 tomm. This sucks! TIME TO NEON

Diesel was cheeper than gas by 15 cents then i bought my truck within 2 weekks it was the same price as gas, then lil more expensivee t then 1.78 a gal and im like an screw this. now at 2.50 im like wow i want my 1.80.


Problem with home brew bio is they make it sound easier than it is. Basically because the oil is hard to comeby. Most resturants are contracted with a vendor. and on top of that sometime the vendor gives the company a kickback for the oil . So unless you plan on payin 30 cents or so a gallon of cooking oil its not gonna get you anywhere. but if you are good at it you can make the bio for around 70-80 cents a gallon. so around 1.30 you can have some purty cheep fuel.

But then you gotta send in your state road tax forms. So that will jump the 40 cents on that. IIF thats IF you can stay under 400 gallons a month then the Feds forgive your taxes. but face it. I fill up more than 10 times a month. I usually run 500 or so gallons a month its purty sad

as far as being behind the rest of the world on price, id strech that a bit. maybe of the worlds large powers

Got a buddy in Iraq , they can buy a gallon of gas for 35 american cents. Im sure its not the exact same as over here but cant be much diffrent

 

Mark Snow's water injection system is looking better and better -- IF we can figure out a way to mix a 50/50 water/diesel ratio. How about it, people? Up for some "science"?

A year ago I found a place on the Georgia/Florida border selling diesel for $1.07 a gallon. You read that right.

 

Purchase over $100 at Meijer and they give you $.50 off for the first 10 gallons.... It's worth something when you shop there alot.... (at least thats true at the one near me....)

 

It cost me $60 bucks for a little more that Half a tank! Riggins Idaho $2.64 !!!

You guys with the $2.10 - $2.20 are not hurting by no means! There is a few back woods towns that have diesel up to 3.00 right now! ( Not that I would buy any! )

I wish I could get your fuel prices here!

It's 120 miles from me, but hell, the price alone is worth it, it's 2.40 at the pumps here.

For those of you saying 2.20 is high...

2.20 x 10 = 22.00 for 10 Gallons
2.64 X 10 = 26.40 for 10 Gallons

2.20 x 30 = 66.00 for 30 gallons
2.64 x 30 = 79.20 for 30 gallons

Now personally I would love to put the 13.20 back in my pocket...

Poor man's Aux Fuel tank:
Four 5 gallon fuel jugs in the back of the truck.
Now have enough fuel for 2 weeks.

Total to top off truck $74.80 (truck tank + jugs approx 33.7 gallons)

Would have been $80.84

 

Heard on the news last night a barrel of crude oil could top $100.00 within a year. Can you say paying double at the pumps of what your paying now.

Ole smokey is still sittin in the garage. Hmmm, let's see if you put a truck body on my Corolla's platform, I could probably tow as much as a jet-ski. ~40 mpg empty, and towing a massive 700 lbs, I could probably get 30 mpg.

I've never thought about selling my 2nd gen truck though. Bang for the buck I don't think there is anything that can match its versatility and achieve 20 - 21 mpg's at 70 mph. Plus I've never seen another 2nd gen truck that looks as clean and new as mine. I told the guys on the TDR that I'd have it for a minimum of 10 years. Well, I've had it 5.5 years so far and it still seems new to me! Can't imagine making payments anymore.

Passed a station on the way home tonight and they were $2.91!on the way to work they were $2.71!Time to get a TDI for work.

 

While it's true I'm paying for more for diesel oil than gasoline, I'm averaging 21 mpg driving a 7000 lb truck, and have the safety and convenience of a large vehicle. And when you compute the savings of driving a little 4 banger versus your truck, better add the cost of a couple of engines or entire cars into the equation. I'll stick with my Cummins.
