Angry At seventy foe ninety fie, ole smokey stays home...

Hey fellers,

I know you guys are feeling the pain too, maybe more than me. I filled up my truck last night. $74.95. A little over 33 gallons.

Luckily I have a garage for the truck to stay in, and a rice-a-roni mobile getting 39 miles to a shot o' saki.

I don't know how some of you guys do it? Will we ever see $1.50 a gallon again?

Negative, Ghost Rider. $1.50 is long gone. I've got an auxiliary tank on mine and filled both last night for $151.40! Fuel in OK is $2.15 at best.

I doubt we will ever see $1.50 diesel again.

Think I will be racking up a lot more miles on the old Hog in the future.

Fill up at 1/2 tank, it's cheaper that way.

Seriously though, the Geezer-Glide will become my primary commuter once the morning temps pass the mid 40s.

I think we have been riding the low price wave for fuel in the world market for along time. I would be willing to bet that we will not see d/o below 2 bucks ever again.

I paid $2.22 a gallon this morning. Hard to go and buy something else just for better fuel mileage when its paid for.

Yeah, it was actually $2.249 a gallon when I filled. So basically $2.25 a gallon, and that was probably the 40 cetane minimum cr@p.

If I believed I could brew my own (washed) bio, and meet or beat the price of wrag-head-diesel, I'd give it a go. Even easier is if I could find some bio in my area. I've looked on-line and have found nothing in the Montgomery, AL area.

I would have to believe that bio woud not fluctuate up or down with petro-diesel. Would you guys agree? What's the going rate of B20 & B100 now? I honestly believe the long term anwer is bio ... and am looking forward to trying it.

If biodiesel ever reaches the point where it's traded as a commodity like petro-diesel, then you can bet that its price will track petro-diesel. As a commodity, price isn't just a function of cost, but rather of market forces. If petro-diesel is selling for $3.00/gallon and you owned (just for sake of discussion) 1 million gallons of biodiesel that can be used in place of petro-diesel, would you sell it for $1.00/gallon? Nope, and neither will the commodity traders once they get into the game.

I tried to buy some and the owner said the price for bio can change several times a day.

Well since we have had higher fuel prices lately I have found out that the local Speedway/SuperAmerica's pumps shut down at $75.00, even when you prepay with a credit card.

My co-worker just filled up his red diesel tank at his farm in Falfurrias Tx....
He bought 1000 gals at 1.89/gal for RED DIESEL!!! That'll only last him for about 3 days of tractor driving during spring planting season... OUCH!
The fuel distributor can give him a little more of a break on red prices IF he can accept a 10,000gallon tanker truckload!!! Yeah right!
He said he hates to fill up his '99 F350 4x4 SD at road diesel prices (~$2.30/gal)just to commute back and forth to this job!!!
He said it SURE is getting tempting to put RED#2 it in the pickup...
(Don't worry, he knows better as the fuel police regularly pick on people with farm tags!)

I'm feelin it up here in WA state, it cost me $85.00 to fill mine up (34gal) from E to the filler neck. $2.62 at Safeway with the .3 cent discount. Anything close to $2.00 would be nice. It cost the wife $38.00 for premium (18gal) last night to fillup, it uaslly cost right at $20.00. Dont know how much more this the average working man can handle. Already changed my plans for a trip to Vegas and Magic Mountain with the kids this summer because of it.

I was looking forward to cruising over to my grandmother-in-law's house and borrowing (maybe permanently) a J.D. 750 tractor, and dragging that sucker back to my house. But now that's looking like a $102 trip. As bad a shape as that tractor is in, I'm not sure its worth much more than that.

I'm the only one who's given that tractor any love since my grandfather-in-law died, and I don't get out there enough to make much of a difference. Oh what to do ... bother.
