Royal Purple?????
Royal Purple?????
OK so in doing research for my upcoming diesel purchase, the royal purple link was sent over to me, and I went and read all I could on this stuff. I have never used it and was very interested. I would like to put it in my commuter car (honda accord) my wifes Toyota 4runner and my old chevy pickup. These all have over 100K on them. Is this a good idea for me? It seems if their claims are correct it will help "clean" my engine and anything I can do help with MPG and more power is a plus. I just wonder how expensive this stuff is compared to regular oil? ANyones feedback that has used this stuff is appreciated.
I run Castrol Syntec at almost $6/qt.
I have ran it since 20k miles and im not at 106k changing every 10K with a filter change at 5K.
I used it in my 71 Chevy truck after I had the engine rebuilt. I later done some upgrades and the engine looked great.
The big concern with high milage vehicles is gasket deterioration. right now, everything is sealed, as the synthetic starts cleaning the deposits out, it might open a leak path.

Royal Purple is averaging $6.49 a qt!!! On higher mileage vehicles there is a tendacy for synthetics to clean the engine almost to well and open a leak that was clogged with years/miles of junk. The differentials, and the transmissions love it. Try it and see what you think in the new Diesel. Once my engine get to 8,000 miles I will be switching EVERYTHING to Royal Purple!!!
