Road Trip..
Road Trip..
Well I am taking my new to me truck on its first road trip with me. I have had the truck for about a month or so but have yet to take it further than a half hour or so. The truck has fresh oil, a fresh lift pump, tail shaft seal fixed and transfercase filled with new fluid, had trans flushed. Tires are up to the correct pressure, filled with fuel, spare fuel can in the back, cooler full of beer and ice (well will have tomorrow after work). My question is, is there anything I should bring with me? I brought my road box full of tools and I put a fuel filter in the tool box and I got a pull strap. I am just trying to be as prepared as I can. I am going about 4 hours each way on this trip... I will going to Lake cumberland for the First OSS off shore race...so excited. Anyways, what would you all suggest I bring with me other than what I have prepared for so far. Thanks guys, I wont be leaving until 4 pm est. time tomorrow afternoon.
Thanks,
Kevin
Thanks,
Kevin
As long as I have my cell phone with me Im good to go.. I have made 15 hour trips one way without thinking twice, I just check my oil and do a quick "walk around" looking for anything out of the ordinary..
However in my tool box i have a gallon of oil, a gallon of coolant and a new fuel filter at all times just in case...

I travel 3 to 12 hrs to go to jobs. I always have a cell phone with charger, 1 gal of oil,1gal of premix coolant, code reader(a cheap one gets you out of limp mode a better one gives more info), Fuel filter (even name brand stations get bad fuel) and the tools to fix most little things. So far over 500,000 miles and the CTD has not let me down. Time will tell if the cr is as good as the 1st gen.
