so last night i am on the on ramp to a street and as i am coming to the street i see out of the corner of my eye a chevy with bigger than stock tires and real throaty sound. as i get up close to it i can see the sewer pipe coming out teh back and can see the duramax badge on it. I had my windows down as did he and i slowly crept up beside him and looked over at him. He was trying to talk to me but i couldnt really make out what he was saying. looked straight ahead and just waited. He hit it and so did I. I got smoked, he pulled on me like i wasnt even moving and i heard a loud rumble like almost like a gasser motor. I thought geez, that wasnt fun and slowly crept up on him again. Once beside him he kept trying to talk but again i couldnt make much out of what he was sayin, i think he was asking what was done to my truck. He hit it again and i stayed right with him for about .1 second and again he pulled multiple vehicle lengths on me. I thought man those things can really move. I knew he had a chip but never rode in or raced another diesel to see the difference. I pulled up next to him again and just shrugged my shoulders and said mines just stock. He sadi e had an 80hp edge chip in his truck and said i ought to get one too. Said my truck sounded real good though. we went our different directions, and he seemed like a cool guy. I guess the point of the story is dont race bombed trucks when yours is stock. it was kinda fun though

 

LMAO, thats funny. I remeber the first time that happened to me. I had a 24v 5 speed QC Dually 4x4 stock. And i pulled up to this guy thought nothing of it he started reving so did i the light turned green i took off. Well needless to say i got my *$$ handed to me on a platter.

Then i bought the ol'e 12 valve well i ran into him again. He didnt know it was me though cause we never talked. He said he would race me for 500$ i thought OH BOY. Anyway i said lets do it. Blowed his doors off and he wouldn't stop.

Then about a year later that truck came up for sale my buddy went to buy it i went with him he was talking about how bad it was and i said something about that race. Oh he didnt remeber must of not been him ect.....

GOD I LOVE IT.

 

i hate it when someone of a different brand says to the owner of another they should "get one too". apples and oranges!!! if he meant you should look into Edge because they sell a quality product, its different.

sorry for the rant...its just with the explosion of diesel performance, there seems to be a lot of "experts" out there because they have purchased one product and it worked.

back to the subject, maybe a few mods and another chance with the dmax...its so much more fun when both sides respect each others' rigs.
