PTO Questions
PTO Questions
I have a 2004.5 w/ the Cummins & a six speed manual transmission(NV5600). There is no high idle on this truck because there is no clutch neutral switch. I have a couple of general PTO questions:
What is the most Hp that can be pulled thru the PTO
What is the gear tooth count or how can I figure out what output speed thru the PTO gear will be.
How can I control the idle speed - will a 2x4 & power seat work? How accurate will the speed regulation be (want to hook up a generator)?
What kind of motor speed do I need to genarate 13 kW (20 HP)?

This might help with some of the info. http://www.parker.com/chelsea/old/Pr...pto_charts.htm
For the generator part, will be a AC type? If so you would need a hertz meter to set the rpms to match 60 hertz. I did this on a Dayton PTO AC generator.
I think Genos Garage has a adjustable throttle control stick that slips between the steering wheel or seat to the peddle and can be fine tuned.

there is a pto program built into the ecm, and there is a pin on the ecm that needs to get a signal to activate the pto function... it is listed in the wiring schematics, but i don't think anyone has figured out how it functions yet... [i am still researching it too..]
Might want to contact this company for the electronic throttle control.
