Re:Problems with 6.0 Powerstroke

I just saw a guy today at the Speedway on my way to deliver hay to a friend of mine. He was driveing a new 6.0 stroker with a dumpbed and the new auto. He saw my truck and walked over to me as I was fueling up. He asked me about my truck and what I have done to it and, what kind of fuel milage I got. Well after BSing for a min I asked him about his truck and how he liked. He said. "I loved the truck for about a month and it started to lose MPG fast. It got 16 when he bought it and was down to 10 right now". He said that the power was nice but he felt it was not as much as the 99 stroker he traded it in for it. both were dump trucks. He has plans on trying the new dodge when it starts to sell it with only cab and chasse*sp so that he can put his bed that he has on the 03 stroker on it.

His name was Willam applegate.
I think ford should have a little disclamer at the bottom of the screen when It says "If you haven't looked at a Ford lately, Look again". Except for the 6.0 powerstroke

Re:Problems with 6.0 Powerstroke

Interesting quote from the "dark side" (I underlined the interesing part)

I have experienced just about all of these wierd problems with my new 03 6.0 and just found a new problem which I havent read about anywhere else. I started the truck up in the morning bringing it to my dealer it was about -10 Celius (Toronto Canada) so the it was idleing really bad like usual,, then I noticed red fluid dripping from the bumper area and assumed that it was the power steering since I have heard some wierd noises when turning sometimes (Anyone Else Find That??).

Maybe F*rd has started to market these trucks with rough idle as an option (high performance cam)

Re:Problems with 6.0 Powerstroke

I had a '94 PSD...my 98.5 24v Cummins Dodge is twice the truck the Ford ever thought of being, but...questions for Cummins/Dodge;

Why did it take 10+ years to fix the KDP? ??? ???

Next question, Why do we have to put in after market TQs and VBs-because you are still putting in trannys made for V8 gassers? > >

Why wasn't the lift pump problem rectified years ago? ??? ???

Safety feature - Why is one able to put the automatic in gear without applying the brake? > > (DON'T leave a child in your truck with the motor running thinking it won't come out of park - it will.)

Reasons I'm not running out to buy an '03;
1. Don't know if the tranny has been properly upgraded.
2. Don't know if fuel pump problems have been rectified.
3. The company is getting so 'cheap' that you spend 40 grand for the vehicle and it doesn't have the under hood insulation liner, no under hood light, and no rear fender liners. Little things, yes. But, if the company is so cheap on the little things I want to wait and see how the rest of the truck is.

Love my CTD and definitely won't be getting a PSD or Duramax. ;D

Just my $0.02 Stan

Re:Problems with 6.0 Powerstroke

Dodgeman01 keep up the good work. I love how they go "Well F*rd is the best because...... uh...." and then come up with some completely made up fact or set of numbers. That only makes it easier for someone with even a little bit of diesel knowledge to know it's not true. Then you guys come back and blow them out of the water. You know the only reason that thread was closed was because one of them ran to the mod. and complained to him. And I'm sure he had nothing to back him up, so he left a cheap diss and locked it.

Re:Problems with 6.0 Powerstroke

I'm not saying anything bad about the site. It is a truck site for guys who own or want to know about ford trucks just like this one but for dodge. When I go over there it is only to keep it straight. I do not go calling the PSD a pile of junk unless they want to start on me first. I never disrespect them unless I feel that I have been disrespected first.
DM01
