48k could easily be sticker, but he should be able to get at least 10k off that unless he takes the special financing. Also, as a side note, lariat is Ford and Laramie is Dodge.

With fuel prices the way they are, won't they settle for $30k?

All the trucks took a big price jump with the new styles and emissions. I picked up my 07 classic for $36??? brand new and I'm glad I did. The new trucks are a rip off.

Hmmm...let's see:
- Dodge has a 109-day supply of 2008 Rams (60 days is ideal), and dealers say they're struggling to unload them
- Sales of full-sized pickups fell 22.1 percent in April from the same period a year ago and are down 16.6 percent for the first four months of 2008
- The Ram was the most heavily discounted vehicle in the US last month: an AVERAGE of $8,260 per vehicle
- In CA some dealers are advertising up to $13K off sticker.

My crystal ball says that your friend should shop around for a deal...he won't have to look very hard.
