Powerchoke - I see why!

Stopped by the local Diesel Performance Shop yesterday and they had a display up for changing the exhaust on the Powerchokes. Said that this stock exhaust is what is on them until about '97. It was a piece of pipe that was about 4 inches across and about 1 inch thick. Man that exhaust was definitely a choker.

My brother has a 96 and until he upgraded( ) to a 3" down pipe that is what he had. He always refered to his truck as being constipated

You gotta understand guys, the increased velocity of the air in that pipe is how they get the Powerjoke's turbo to spool up in a reasonable time.

All I can think of when I see the PowerStroke exhaust system, is garage headers. How many of us have seen the peened long tube headers on someone's weekend project, with the strategic dents to fit around steering and suspension? Plus, those low hanging tubes routinely become flattened from driveways and service station entrances! I was really saddened that they had to manufacture such a system for BRAND NEW trucks!!
