Power Take Off's

What are the PTO's on transmissions commonly used for? Is anyone on here using theirs for something? Just curious...

On my work truck it runs an air compressor and a hydrolic (sp) back hoe...

They're also used to drive a pump for a dump body hoist and for wreckers.

Although not that common I've seen PTOs off the transfer case that spin the same as ground speed used to power drive wheels on a trailer.
