Agreed. I worry about my fuel pressure but I've had 4 pumps fail out of the blue in 4 years. Other than that, I drive it anyway I want and don't care. I enjoy working on my truck. But I enjoy driving it more. That's why I quit letting my turbo cool down before I shut it off. In all the diesel's my family's ever owned, we've never done that and we've never had a problem.

ignorance is bliss if you've got the money to afford it...

I'm a po' boy and a hot rodder, and I don't like being stuck on the side of the road, so I inform myself

I agree, I have worried more about my truck after reading posts here than I ever have. You have to realize when someone has a problem they post it for help. That does not mean you'll have the problem. We all drive different, and all the trucks are treated different. Some tow, some race, some daily drivers.

Yeah, I felt the same way at first. Took everything with a grain of salt. Now that I have owned 3 CTDs I think differently. With the exception of a KDP failure its all happened to mine. From cratered injector pumps to trannies to brakes to flexplates to suspension, electrical gremlins, 1 motor, blah, blah, blah. pretty much everything Ive read about here. Hey, at least im not alone it sounds like. perhaps its time to stop taking care of em and just start beating on em. Maybe the`ll like that.

Mine loves it. She always seems to run better after a good hard 0-100 mph.

For every one person who posts a problem here there are probably 500 or more who never have a problem. Most people come here with a problem so it makes it seem like everyone has a the same problems.

Agreed!

I have put tens of thousands of trouble free miles on my truck. I post when I have problems or information to pass on.

Think of my post count if I posted everytime things were working perfectly.

I'm paranoid, but I don't think it is because I am too informed. I know more about my trucks because of this site than I ever thought I would know about a vehicle, but I consider it a blessing.

I am paranoid because my 95 Ram 3500 was junk. Had it for a year and put $5000 worth of repairs into it and it the transmission was about to kick the bucket. THAT is why I'm paranoid.

However it did teach my a valuable lesson... I will never buy used again.

Some people are just plain worrywarts!!!! Some people have to take 30 pills a day to feel better, especially after watching the news only to hear about an epidemic. Regardless of that fact, I still believe that the more you knowabout your truck the better off you are. If you recognise a problem when it first starts and get it checked out and repaired vs driving it till it quits and have a catastrophic failure. Doing proper maintenence and driving 500,000+ miles with no major failures vs poor maintenence and having the rad fail overheating the motor or burning oil at 100,000 miles etc, etc.... Also going to a repair shop and getting the shaft for unnecessary repairs or exorbatant pricing. Education is still best.

My CTD's have been trouble-free but if I needed advice or had a problem, there is no one around that I could ask questions. Most of the folks on the DTR are pretty bright and have lots of common sense. It's a pleasure just to "listen" to the discussions.
