Performance trannies behind 8.3's?

Performance trannies behind 8.3's?
My buddy said he's got an 8.3 Cummins in one of his trucks and is looking to bomb the motor, but needs a tranny that will handle it. I think he said the tranny was an Allison MD3060? Does anyone know of companies that will modify these trannies, or build some other tranny that will handle a lot of power? Thanks.
