Parnelli Jones Dirt Grip tires?
Parnelli Jones Dirt Grip tires?
Hey
Anyone have any experience with the Parnelli Jones Dirt Grip tires? They seem like a very good tire and sound like they get great reviews. Just wondering if any CTD owners out there have run them and whatcha think of them, especially in dirt/mud/snow/rain

Thanks

I have wondered about them myself, my buddy had a set on his '95 F-350, but he was regular cab and ran 38"s.
Looks like 33x12.5x17 can be had for less than $215 each without shopping around much, sounds decent to me for that kind of tire. interestedin any other replies/experiences

After lots of searching for the "perfect tire" I got a set of 37/12.50's for my 03 Dodge 1500. 4 Wheel Parts sold them to me and mounted and balanced. They required tons of lead (more strips of lead than I ever thought possible on a tire) and had to be re-balanced 3 times in a 5 week period. After venting to the manager, he let me exchange them for another set(BFG's). I'd never get another set and advise you to look for something else, especially for the heavy duty trucks. Sure PJ's look cool....that's about it.

In all fairness I never used them offroad where I'm sure they would kick serious butt. For daily driving on the street they were plain out loud and vibrated terribly. They were wearing unevenly and I didn't even have 2000 miles on them. I sold them at a large loss and considered it a lesson learned. If I lived in the country or used them on a farm they would be fine. They should come with a warning, "Not for city use"....
I did that as well... didn't help. The pj's have such an aggresive tread pattern that I think they were really out of round. When I changed tires, I swapped all the dynabeads into my new tires. What a pain in the neck that was...
well, they say the PJ dirt grips are computer scanned for roundness and something with weight. Not sure if this is something recent they did and you guys juet of tires or what. Some of they guys who recently got em say theyre awesome
My PJ's had excessive side force or road force(something like that) according to Goodyear Express who I took the PJ's to for a second opinion so I'd know whether 4 Wheel Parts wasn't yankin my chain.
Try the Toyo M/T's. Best tire I've ever ran in the last 20 years of 4 wheelers. They are quiet and super gnarly looking and "E" rated.
